Family: Labiates

Use: Lavender is grown in the Mediterranean primarily for its essential oil.
It beautifies the garden but attracts bees.
A few drops of essential oil on the neck and behind the ears are effective against lice.
 
  Tips:
Growing: In the ground or a window box.
Exposure: Sunny, but sheltered
Watering: Moderate
Harvest: Stems are gathered in July to make dry bouquets or to dry the flowers which are used in sachets to perfume closets and drawers.
