Family: Labiates

Use: Penetrating aroma, strong flavour. Its fragrance is released in cooking. Goes very well with lamb (stew or roasted leg) Use discreetly when cooking (careful of the bitterness).
Grows spontaneously in scrubland; lends itself to planting in rock gardens and for creating borders and low hedges. (BEWARE of the bees, who love it!)
 
  Tips:
Growing: In a pot, window box or in the ground or container.
Expoure: In the sun, sheltered from the wind
Watering: Moderate
Harvest: Harvest the fresh leaves as needed. Dry the stems in summer for tisanes.
